Smooth operation for movie capture

Linear Response MF ensures that the focus ring responds directly and linearly to subtle control when focusing manually. An internal zoom mechanism minimises center of gravity shift so gimbal mounting is easy, and the breathing compensation ⁶ and Active Mode image Stabilisation functions provided in compatible α bodies are supported.

Outstanding clarity and contrast

Two Super ED (Extra-low Dispersion) and three ED glass elements minimise both longitudinal and lateral chromatic aberration for exceptionally sharp imagery without colour bleeding. Contrast and clarity are further enhanced by Nano AR Coating II that effectively suppresses flare and ghosting even when a strong light source appears in the frame.
